About the Role

Looking for a career with purpose? You could be exactly who we're looking for!

At Red Kite School, we believe that every young person deserves someone who sees their potential, encourages their progress and helps them believe in themselves.

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team and play an important part in helping students grow in confidence, develop new skills and achieve things they may never have thought possible.

This isn't just about supporting lessons. It's about building relationships, inspiring confidence and being a positive influence in a young person's day. One moment you could be helping a student overcome a learning challenge, the next you'll be celebrating a personal achievement or encouraging them to try something new.

You don't necessarily need previous Teaching Assistant experience to make an impact. If you've worked in care, childcare, youth work, coaching, support services or another people-focused role, you may already have many of the skills we're looking for.

With term-time-only working, you'll also have more time to enjoy the things you love outside of work.

What you will be doing

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping students engage with learning and work towards their individual goals.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued and confident.
  • Work alongside teachers to create engaging, inclusive and supportive learning experiences.
  • Encourage students to develop independence, resilience and important life skills.
  • Support students' social, emotional and behavioural development, helping them navigate challenges positively.
  • Contribute to a calm, welcoming and nurturing school environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Recognise and celebrate achievements, helping students see just how much progress they're making.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for caring, enthusiastic and resilient individuals who are passionate about helping young people succeed.

You may already be a Teaching Assistant, or have experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, childcare, support work or a similar people-focused role.

  • A positive role model who builds strong relationships with young people.
  • Patient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable, proactive and willing to think creatively.
  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Passionate about helping students achieve their potential.

Most importantly, you'll have the desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people every single day.
