Job Title: Assistant Headteacher - SEND and Inclusion
Location: Red Kite School, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, HP27 0JW
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am - 4.00pm
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: January 2027

At Red Kite School, we're looking for an inspiring Assistant Headteacher - SEND & Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in driving exceptional outcomes for our students.
This is far more than a leadership position. It's an opportunity to influence whole-school practice, champion inclusive education, support staff development, and ensure every student receives the personalised support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Working closely with the Headteacher, you'll help shape strategic direction while maintaining a 70% teaching commitment, allowing you to remain connected to students, lead by example in the classroom, and have a visible impact across the school community.

Your Leadership Impact
As Assistant Headteacher - SEND & Inclusion, you will:
- Lead the strategic development of SEND and inclusion across the school.
- Drive outstanding outcomes for students through high-quality teaching, targeted support and effective intervention.
- Oversee EHCP implementation, monitoring and review to ensure students receive the provision they need.
- Use data and progress information to identify priorities and improve outcomes.
- Inspire, coach and develop staff to strengthen inclusive practice across the school.
- Build positive partnerships with families, local authorities and external professionals.
- Champion safeguarding, wellbeing, equality and a culture of belonging for every student.
What will you will bring
We are seeking an inspirational leader who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE and a relevant degree.
- Experience of leading within a school, specialist provision or SEND setting.
- A strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs, inclusion and school improvement.
- A proven ability to improve outcomes for students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to motivate, inspire and develop colleagues.
- A genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people.
- NPQSL or equivalent leadership qualification (desirable).

Red Kite School is an independent special school for up to 60 young people aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Opened in September 2024, the school is located in the beautiful market town of Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. We provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every young person is understood, valued and encouraged to thrive.

At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
