Job Title:  SEN Teacher
Location:  Avonside School, Bristol BS4 5PS
Hours:      40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary:      Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
Start:        October 2026

About the Role

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and support excellent progress.
• Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of learners with a range of additional and complex needs.
• Plan, develop and review schemes of learning across your curriculum area.
• Monitor student progress, using assessment to identify interventions and celebrate achievement.
• Lead the development of your subject area, ensuring teaching remains creative, innovative and engaging.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Avonside School and the wider Outcomes First Group to share best practice and develop the curriculum.
• Support colleagues through training and sharing effective teaching strategies within your subject specialism.
• Work closely with the Exams Officer to ensure accurate qualification entries and successful outcomes.
• Teach across a range of subjects where required to support the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
• Work alongside therapists, Learning Support Assistants, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide a consistent, holistic approach to each student's education.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching within an educational setting.
• Can confidently plan, deliver and adapt engaging lessons for students with a range of learning needs.
• Is passionate about inclusive education and believes every child can achieve.
• Is creative, flexible and committed to delivering personalised learning experiences.
• Builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
• Holds a full UK Driving Licence.
