In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students with Autism and a range of additional needs, providing tailored support that enables them to engage in learning, build independence, and achieve meaningful personal and academic outcomes. You could be supporting engaging classroom activities, helping deliver practical and outdoor learning experiences, or providing individual encouragement that helps a student overcome challenges and celebrate success.
Working alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with Autism and additional needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
- Assist with classroom, outdoor learning, and enrichment activities.
- Provide emotional, behavioural, and practical support to help students feel safe, confident, and engaged.
- Encourage independence, positive relationships, and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to deliver outstanding support and care.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.
About You
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and resilient individual who is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Whether you have previous experience in education, care, support work, or a similar setting, you will bring a patient and adaptable approach, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
You will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, building positive relationships with students and colleagues, and embracing the variety and challenge that comes with supporting learners in a specialist setting.
What You'll Bring:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Any relevant training would be desirable.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable nature with a genuine desire to support students to thrive.
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Resilience, positivity, and a calm approach in challenging situations.
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to support learning across a range of classroom and outdoor environments.
- A commitment to creating positive outcomes for students with SEN and additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career while making a lasting impact on the lives of students every day. If you're looking for a role where your support, encouragement, and dedication truly matter, we'd love to hear from you.
