About the Role

At Ashley Park School, we're looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support students with additional needs to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

This is more than a Teaching Assistant role. It's an opportunity to help young people build confidence, develop life skills, overcome barriers and achieve goals they never thought possible.

Whether you're already working in education or have experience in care, support work, youth work, coaching, mentoring or another people-focused role, we'd love to hear from you. If you have the right values and a passion for helping young people succeed, we'll provide the specialist training and support you need to build a rewarding career in SEND education.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting students on a 1:1, small-group and classroom basis.
  • Building positive, trusted relationships that help students feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.
  • Working alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and support.
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, communication and social development.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through calm, consistent support.
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every student can succeed.

What you will bring

  • Is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
  • Is patient, compassionate and able to build strong relationships.
  • Remains calm, resilient and adaptable in different situations.
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
  • Is keen to learn, develop and build a meaningful career.
  • Has experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals, or transferable skills from a people-focused role.

Previous SEND experience or qualifications are welcome but not essential. We're far more interested in finding people with the right attitude, values and commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
