About the Role

At Penny Tree School, we're looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. You'll play a vital role in helping students with additional needs overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve their individual potential in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and other professionals, you'll provide personalised support that enables students to thrive both academically and personally. Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact and celebrate progress, no matter how big or small.

Previous SEN experience is beneficial, but not essential. If you're patient, compassionate and committed to helping young people succeed, we'll provide the training and support you need to develop a rewarding career in specialist education.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing 1:1, small group and classroom support to help students engage with learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
  • Supporting teachers to deliver engaging, creative and personalised learning activities.
  • Encouraging the development of students' confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through calm, consistent support.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to provide the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Supporting students with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity, comfort and wellbeing are always maintained.

What you'll bring

  • A caring, patient and adaptable approach, with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND.
  • Resilience, positivity and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude, with a willingness to support students across a variety of activities and settings.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, promoting wellbeing and helping every student reach their full potential.

If you're looking for a role where every day matters and where your support can have a lasting impact on a young person's future, we'd love to hear from you.
