About the Role

As an EYFS/SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students thrive in a supportive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Working closely with teachers and the wider school team, you will support students with Autism and additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and develop key life skills.

This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help prepare learning resources, support classroom activities, and provide tailored assistance to meet individual learning, communication, emotional, and physical needs. Through your encouragement and guidance, you will help students develop independence, strengthen their social and communication skills, and achieve outcomes they never thought possible.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with Autism and additional SEND needs across a range of learning activities.
  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging EYFS and sensory-based learning experiences, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Supporting students' emotional wellbeing through a calm, caring, and responsive approach.
  • Preparing learning resources and contributing to a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to implement personalised support strategies.
  • Supervising and supporting students during classroom activities, outdoor learning, and educational visits.
  • Providing support with personal and intimate care where required, with full training provided.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping students engage successfully with learning and the wider world around them.

You will be part of a dedicated and supportive team, where collaboration, shared learning, and professional development are at the heart of everything we do. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of students with SEND while developing their own skills and experience within a specialist education setting.
