About the Role

At Papworth School, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they have faced.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and passionate SEN Teacher who wants more than just a teaching job. This is an opportunity to be part of a specialist school where relationships come first, small class sizes allow truly personalised learning, and every day brings the chance to make a life-changing impact.

You'll work with students who need someone to believe in them, champion their successes, and help them develop the confidence, skills and resilience to thrive both in education and beyond.

Whether you're already working within SEND or looking to take your teaching career into specialist education, you'll join a supportive and experienced team dedicated to helping every student achieve their potential.

What You’ll Do

As an SEN Teacher, you'll create engaging and purposeful learning experiences that meet the individual needs of your students.

  • Deliver creative and inspiring lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support academic, social and emotional development
  • Track, assess and celebrate student progress
  • Develop and review personalised learning plans
  • Foster a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with families, support staff and therapists to achieve the best outcomes
  • Promote wellbeing, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Safeguard and support every student's welfare and development

What We're Looking For:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience working with students with SEND, SEMH or additional needs, or a genuine desire to develop within specialist education
  • Builds strong, positive relationships with young people
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and helping students overcome barriers to learning
  • Brings creativity, patience and resilience to the classroom
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
