Job Title:  SEN Teaching Assistant
Location:  Ashley Park School, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 1LE
Salary:      £24,675 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours:      37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
Start:        November 2026

As part of our continued growth, Ashley Park School is looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team. This is an opportunity to provide practical, day-to-day support that helps students feel safe, valued and able to learn.

Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and a multidisciplinary team, you will support students with additional needs through a consistent approach to learning, care and wellbeing.

Every day is different, and your contribution helps ensure students make progress at a pace that supports their individual needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities that are accessible and personalised.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access the curriculum and work towards individual goals.
• Support students’ communication, independence, confidence and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with the planning, implementation and review of individual support plans and learning activities.
• Prepare classroom resources and support engaging learning environments.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records while supporting safeguarding, health and safety and student wellbeing.

About You

• Previous experience of working with children with SEN, or relevant SEN qualifications, is beneficial but not essential; training and support will be provided.
• Patient, compassionate and committed to supporting each student to achieve their full potential.
• A positive team player with effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to respond confidently to individual student needs.
• Willing to learn, develop and work towards further professional qualifications.

About the School

Ashley Park School is located in the market town on the south bank of the Thames in the borough of Surrey, within the Greater London built-up area. The school is accessible via a range of transport routes. The specialist school caters for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.

The school’s aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, enabling students to access a broad, balanced, engaging and rich curriculum.

At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
